I agree with the previous comments. Also depends if you want to process full image interferogram or a smaller subset (burst level).

From my understanding a 3 burst interferogram can take around 3-5 minutes depending of the assigned resources.

For running it in batch mode you should consider to include the -c parameter while running gpt. Please see (http://forum.step.esa.int)

You can try Envi 5.3 using SARScape module (license is required and is not cheap). As for me the opensource SNAP (http://step.esa.int/main/download/) works very well, especially batch processing using graphs.

You can try ISCE (InSAR Scientific Computing Environment). This software was produced by JPL and widely used in D-InSAR processing step.

SARPROZ and GAMMA are strong software for InSAR producing and processing.

You can try ISCE or GMTSAR, these two softwares are all free available

SARPROZ and SNAP are good and free available.

For the processing of Sentinel-1 L0 product you can use FreeSAR (http://www.freesar.com/). This web-based framework allows you to generate L1 products and perform interferometric analyses (data coregistration, interferograms generation, Persistent Scatterers analysis). SAR images can be very heavy to process, in particular as full frames. I suggest to reduce your area of interest by cropping the images, or buy a more powerful workstation with multicore CPU (e.g. Ryzen) and last generation GPUs.

You can use SARPROZ if your system configuration is not good or buy a workstation with high end RAM and multi cores. Best of luck

I've heard that SARPROZ underestimates the results of interferometry. I suggest you using SARSCAPE.

In the past years, we have used SARPROZ in many different applications including land subsidence estimation, dam monitoring and the deformation estimation over the infrastructures.

Very satisfactory results were obtained and we published them in different journals.

A variety of different tools are designed in the software using which you cannot only estimate the milimetric deformation but also the deformations with larger rates. It can be used for deformations with linear or non linear trends...

I have been working in InSAR since 2005, while we used a EV-InSAR which no more exist. I have used almost all the software available in commercially or in open domain. Based on my experience I recommend to use SARPROZ.

Another option for Sentinel-1 TOPS InSAR processing is the JPL InSAR Scientific Computing Environment (ISCE). It is now available on GitHub as open source:

The ISCE software can take advantage of multiple CPU cores, but you would need to run it in a Linux or MacOSX environment, not Microsoft Windows.

I strongly suggest you focus on open-source software such as ISCE, which is the best InSAR processing package compatible with Minty. In addition, with the support of both RUS and RSS cloudtoolbox services, you can work and get the results with the SNAP software very well.

Hi Jorge, Sarproz is a commercial software, even if we are proud and happy to support the research of many students.

I never used other InSAR software, so, I cannot compare them myself. But many Sarproz users were using other InSAR software before and I am not aware of any who learnt Sarproz and then switched back to the previous ones.

In short, I'd say Sarproz is very flexible and both newcomers with little background (and small laptops) and demanding professionals using high processing power find it suitable for their needs. Just as an example, you can use it with a graphic interface (for learning or for data investigation), or you can use it from the command line to automatize standard operations.

If you never tried it you can apply for a trial license and see it yourself...

SNAP is free and open source and will remain so, and it is also supported by ESA in the long term. If SNAP is acting very slow it is usually due to restrictive settings for the JVM (Java Virtual Machine). If you have 16GB of RAM or more + an SSD it performs quite well these days. Many people are running SNAP in a distributed manner on clusters or clouds, if that is possible for you it should mitigate any throughput-issues you might have.

I am using SNAP , My computer with 16GB of RAM you can use more than 16GB and SSD it performs quite well these days.

dinoSAR facilitates processing InSAR data on the Cloud.

dinoSAR is software that enables on-demand processing of single interferograms and sets of interferograms for a given area of interest on the Cloud. Processing is done with ISCE2 Software that is Dockerized and run on AWS Batch. So for now we have dinoSARaws.

Currently, dinoSAR works with Sentinel-1 data, which is provided by the European Space Agency (ESA). dinoSAR utilities for searching for data via the Alaska Satellite Facility (ASF) and setting up processing to either run locally or on the Cloud. Why run on the Cloud? SAR imagery takes up a lot of disk space and because data is being stored on AWS, running on the Cloud circumvents the need to download data. Furthermore, we can take advantage of scalable parallel processing!

I strongly recommend ISCE with Mintpy and Giant processing tool boxes. Yes SNAP is slow and also currently not compatible for SBAS processing (multi-baseline interferogram processing). In future, SBAS-InSAR is planned with SNAP.

Use the computer with 16GB of RAM. You can use more than 16GB + SSD if you use SNAP or using GAMMA SAR software.

SNAP is free, pen source, and of comparable processing performance than other software packages in the comparison tests have seen. In order to squeeze more performance from SNAP it requires:

a) Lots of RAM, the more the better.

b) Running series of short graphs instead of huge monster graphs (chunk your processing).

c) SSD storage. If you have tons of RAM, using RAMDISK boosts performance.

If this is not fast enough, you'll need to deploy on a cluster/cloud. Many people are doing this.
