They are mostly practical to collect the data which can be downloaded easily as CLS (I Think) or XLS. I tend to use GoogleForms and then transpose the data to Matlab/SPSS/R as neccessary.
Once again I would like recommend 1KA. This software, along with server, is free to use and is compatible with most popular statistical packages. It has greater flexibility than eg LimeSurvey.
I do not understand the condition "more practical than SPSS" because it is enough if the data is available in common format and you can use it in SPSS or Statistica or R or anything you wish.
I think you need to clarify whether you are looking for a program to collect survey data (such as SurveyMonkey or Qaultrics) versus a program to analyze survey data (such as SPSS). Or are you hoping to find something that does both?
David's clarification question is a good one. Having run many surveys (only a few online) and many analyses, I'm not sure you're going to find one program that does everything. I'm sure I'm missing something, though. But in general I've found that "one stop shopping" software rarely exists, even if the companies claim their software can do everything. I would advise using the best survey software you can afford and the best analytic software you can afford. You'll get better quality software that way, and you can build the in-between.
