Did you keep the sample deep frozen during the preparation for RNA extraction? For instance, from the freezer to a mortar chilled with liquid N2 and then grind the leaf to a powder.
Sometimes with Trizol extraction you will have no visible pellet - but the RNA is indeed there. After brief drying of the pellet, use a small amount of nuclease-free water to resolubilize (10 to 30 uL).

Good~! Sometimes not being able to see the pellet makes one doubt anything is there. You just have to work through that doubt to the end of the protocol each time is all.
