Hi, I am trying to develope a MD simulation model for the growth of cells in LAMMPS. I am conisdering each cell as an analog to finite size particle. The cells are intitially as small and as they move from top to bottom they get flat and large.
My aim is to know how many cell reach from top to bottom in a given time period. Although difficult cell morphology is difficult to implement but any suggestion will be appreciable.

I found your question today. Probably you already have answer.
You can have change have size change particle/atom through " atom_style sphere 1 ". Then you need to use fix adapt command to change its size. You can even set how much size should change after each timestep.
