I need to model the real-time behavior of a virtual agent using Timed Petri Nets.
Hence, I need to identify a Python or C++ library/SDK providing an API to control Timed Petri Nets.
Ideally, I would appreciate the presence of a GUI to edit the Petri Net, save it, and load it back into my software for integration.
Petri Nets are a bit out of fashion now, so I have difficulties in finding a reliable updated library for this purpose.

There is a python package called SNAKES (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/SNAKES/0.9.17) created to serve as a Petri Nets Algebra tool.
If your needs are not covered in that package, probably you could get more information by asking in their community.

You may have a look at the Romeo tool: http://romeo.rts-software.org/
It is dedicated to model-checking, but its source code is available, which may allow you to do what you expect. Moreover, it has a nice GUI.
