I am looking for an online measurement technique for the moisture at a few ppm level present in argon gas passing through a pipeline. GC is the most appropriate technique for such application. Is there any alternative substitute?
There are instruments sold into the natural gas industry for moisture analysis that might be adaptable to this problem. One example is the GE Aurora tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy-based device. This is for about 5 ppmv min. measurement level. Varian and others also have specific instruments for this type of measurement. Even something as simple as a drager tube might work, depending on just how low the moisture level is and how accurately you need to measure it.
Thank u Dr. Leppin. But I am looking for a simple technique for assay of moisture in argon gas. I feel using physical properties such as magnetic susceptibility, dielectric property, adsorption principle etc. any technique can be suggested.
I thought you wanted to buy something that already exists and adapt it. I am afraid I can't really help with development of a new instrument or technique. Good Luck.
