Since the outbreak of SARS-CoV2 pandemic transmission through respiratory droplets and direct contact with contaminated surfaces are well accepted. The presence of viruses in water, wastewater and feces raised the suspicion that other transmission routes are likely to exist. In this context, is there any chance of SARS-CoV2 transmission from contaminated water sources?
There has been no scientific evidence till date of transmission thru contaminated water sources.
There is lack of plausible evidence regarding the issue of discussion yet.

It's hard to imagine.
After all, no one will swim from those pools where sewage merges. These will probably be isolated cases. The virus outside the human body is virulent for no more than 4 days.

Highly unlikely as studies have not been able to show SARS-CoV-2 virus particles taken from faeces replicating. On the other hand no research has look into how the virus particles behave when infected people spit when showering or cleaning teeth. I would suspect that the detergents and soaps used during these practices are highly likely to disrupt the lipid envelope of the virus rendering it unable to cause infection.

Smriti Pandey please re-post your link. I am yet to read a paper that has demonstrated that infectious SARS-CoV-2 can be transmitted through water. One paper has reported the transmission of infectious SARS-CoV-1 in a Hong Kong housing building.
