I am looking for recent research on "functional addicts or alcoholics" who are still employed and went through out-patient treatment. I does not have to be published work, it could be internal outcome studies. In particular, I am interested in job retention or mental health outcome measures.
Any pointers or papers are much appreciated.

The recovery rates and return to work rates are good! The level of treatment and support these physicians get SHOULD BE the gold standard for substance use treatment in the United States.
It's an interesting question. There's evidence that coordination of treatment with the patient's employment can be a kind of "contingencyy management" strategy that helps improve the efficiency effectiveness of the treatment.
There is a means to protect thd patients privacy while also coordinating with the employer, who has a bested interest in the wellness of the employee.
Another avenue of inquiry to explore would be data on police and fire department employees, who often receive treatment "mandated" by their employer.
One could develop an interesting thesis that treatment "mandated" by a positive reward (I.E. maintaining employment) is more effective than treatment "mandated" by a negative punishment (I. E. threat of incarceration.)
"Tough love" doesn't work.
"Contingency management" is an effective, evidence based strategy.
