As you have rightly observed ,speech language pathologists (SLP) play a crucial role in individualized education programs where each public school child requires an special education. As such, IEP is a program based on collaboration and team effort and its success is monitored based on periodical evaluation. According to the requirements specified by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, IEP was developed in America for every pupil requiring special education services. Therefore, as a binding document, IEP monitors each student's level of academic achievement and functional performance to make sure that they appropriately prepare for joining the social streamline after high school graduation.
