Dear Colleagues, I am preparing a paper about the long term Socio-political effects due to political interventions in our Public Education System. I wish to find out if there are any similar researches from other countries especially western based democracies. (as so to enable better comparison) This could be based on intervention in curriculum, text books, funding, teacher training and posting.
This is an interesting question that piqued my interest - but can you be more specific what you mean by "political interventions"? I think it would also be helpful to specify macro- or micro-political.

I am concentrating in what I see as the dangers in intervention in education and exploiting its wide base for narrow political reasons as in promoting certain and specific political narratives. These could be economic or social-political, where an eleted government uses the education system to promote narrow polotical agendas. Teachers become the voice of the government. This sounds very extreme but totally possible.
