A vast stretch of water weeds have converted the lake bed into a grazing land. Located on a four-acre area, it was once home to several species of birds, but has now turned into a marsh filled with hyacinth and weeds.
You may find that there is still a viable seedbank if the water levels can be established close to the previous levels. It would be important to know in what capacity the bird species were using the lake (nesting, wintering, migration path stop over, etc.). There could be a large difference in plant species depending on use. The bird species were there for a reason, if you want them to come back it would be necessary to provide the same resources or comparable resources.
