as far as I know this is a matter of increased interest during last years. A number of investigations with pure cultures from diffrent MO were carried out - Arthrobacter (Albertson et al., 1995), Bacillus (Pinchuk et al., 2004), Rhodococcus(Sivan et al., 2006), Penicillium and Aspergillus (Volke-Sepulveds 2001). The degree of degradation is between 11-30% for a period of up to 3 months and temperature 50 C

if you mean synthesize polymers such as polyolefins, you wont find any bacteria degradations for years.
but the story of other kinds of polymers like natural polymers is different.
starch as a member of natural polymer would be degraded by bacteria quickly.
There are many trials for compounding starch or other natural polymers with synthesize polymers to improve their degradation.
