I have employed a PtM/C (M= transition metals) based alloy catalyst for the ORR in acid, though i got a good limiting current but the E1/2 is disappointing, i would acknowledge useful suggestions regarding the reasons responsible for poor E1/2 even though the limiting current is much better. According to my understanding the poor kinetic current is due to insufficient exposed active sites on the catalyst, what other factors could be responsible for this issue? Thanks

These measurements could be tricky, the cleanliness of the cell setup and purity of electrolyte are of utmost importance. First, you need to establish your baseline performance (Pt catalyst) carefully (many good papers here). For these measurements high purity 0.1 M HClO4 is recommended for its low anion adsorption.
