My question is directed towards the meaning of sustainability. I would like to know more about any case study building that has been built following some kind of particular values and norms.
As we hear about the Feng Shui in Chinese Architecture and Vastu Shastra in Indian Architecture. Do these kind of norms are followed in modern architecture? Is it only the superstitious belief or it is all about the sustainability?
As Bao-Jie He mentioned, norms and values differ in various contexts adn even from person to person. It seems to me, in the modern architecture the new approaches are: 'Eco-architecture' and 'Intelligent Architecture' . They have not become norms in most countries but having the energy crisis in our mind, we need to make them norms for a sustainable planet.
I think that practices of bioclimatic Brazilian homes between the 1950s and 1970s are a good example of modern architecture to other regions of the planet.
Absolutely, we design the eco-architecture now, but having said that, there are many planned cities and building still exist and we study about it as a beautiful art today. How might have they design those cities and buildings before the modernism exist. I wonder there should be something as a basic pillar in the construction of ancient buildings before modern architecture.
That is a good start to look at the topic in completely different regions than I have been focusing in at the moment. Carlos, that is exactly what I was looking for as you have mentioned about the Brazilian homes. Thanks
