There are several pheromones/oviposition attractants identified and reported in publications of prestigious journals since 1980's, for some blood sucking insects that are highly promising for use in vector management. However, I would like to know about the commercialization of such effective semiochemicals (if any) that will be helpful for managing especially vectors that transmit malaria, dengue, encephalitis, leishmaniasis etc.
Seenivasagan, I think their use is limited due to cross-interaction with other species.
I think that in Brazil there is one oviposition attractant registered and sold for Aedes aegypti.
Seenivasagan, it depends on the species. Culex mosquitoes that live in polluted waters such as Cx. quinquefasciatus and Cx. pipiens will be attracted by a few days old infusion of yeast and organic matter (such as grass or something similar). We call it "stinky water" for good reason. See Irish etal J Med Entomol. 2013 May;50(3):619-23. for a study examining specific chemicals. For Aedes mosquitoes that transmit dengue (Ae. aegypti, Ae. albopictus) there are a few products in development (the latest pub on that is Baak-Baak et al J Vector Ecol. 2013 Jun;38(1):175-81). For Anopheles, which transmit malaria, that research has started with earnest lately (see Lindh et al J Med Entomol. 2008 Nov;45(6):1039-49).
We use hay. It is very efficient and widely used in the world.

Our oviposition assays have demonstrated that Anopheles gambiae shows a strong tendency to oviposit in water containing low concentrations of 2-propylphenol (Rinker, et al, PNAS 2013). This behavior is also dose dependent.
To my knowledge, there are two succesful experiences where synthetic oviposition attractants were used to monitor gravid Cx. quinquefasiatus. A synthetic oviposition pheromone ((5R,6S)-6-acetoxy-5-hexadecanolide) tested in the field in Tanzania and Skatole (3-methylindole) tested in combination with Bti in Brazil. This is a research field poorly explored and with an enormous potential for monitoring and control of vectors.

Comparison of CDC and EVS Light Traps Baited with Carbon Dioxide and Octenol for Trapping Mosquitoes in Brisbane, Queensland (Diptera: Culicidae)

ABSTRACT Studies were conducted in Brisbane, Australia to test the efficacy of encephalitis virus surveillance (EVS) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) mosquito light traps. Additionally, the relative attractiveness of different combinations of light, carbon dioxide (dry ice) and l-octen-3-ol (octenol) was assessed. the CDC light trap consistently collected more mosquitoes than the comparably baited EVS trap. Octenol, supplemented with dry ice, significantly increased collections of Aedes vigilax, Aedes procax and Culex annulirostris but not Aedes notoscriptus.
So far the discussion (and the published literature) seems to be limited to haematophages that oviposit in water. I'm wondering about other species such as triatomines, sandflies and tsetse flies (for example). I'm not aware of any semiochemicals / pheromones / volatiles that have been yet identified for these groups of insects, but a recent communication by Kumar et al 2013 (http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/0074-0276130003 ) looking at sandflies provides preliminary evidence for unknown pheromones / semiochemicals / volatiles given off by conspecific eggs, faeces / frass, and materials that would make good food sources for the larvae. Older research in the mid-1990's also hinted at volatiles given off by conspecific eggs (see http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8575808). Does anyone else know of any studies looking at non-water ovipositing haematophages? It seems that this whole field is under-researched.

Recently I have been involved to isolate and identification of oviposition attractant research together with Screwworm Laboratory at Panama (USDA-ARS). I knew that they used SPENT diet leftovers for luring primary screwworms in the field. However, since it is a US Federal Lab, you can ask them for that (not need to pay, I assume).

Thank you Sara for sharing information on BG-Sentinel. Actually I was looking for commercially available mosquito oviposition attractants to be very specific. BG-Sentinel sell their products (Lure+trap) aimed to collect host seeking Aedes mosquitoes.
In Nigeria, we have attracted some mosquitoes and other hexapods using light traps baited with Carbon dioxide and left over diets that are rich in sugars though we have not engaged in commercialization of any product yet.

Ivermectin at high concentrations repels mosquitoes to oviposition sites; at low concentrations it tends to attract mosquitoes to oviposition sites but may also kill the attracted mosquitoes in contact with it. You may wish try varying concentrations of the drug in water.
