Some TOC machines have a add on nitrogen detector. Another option is the "Elementar analyser" or CHNO(S) analyser of which new models can also be injected water samples (traditionally this is a solid sample analyser).
If your sample has free amino groups in the nitrogen source you are using you can go for ninhydrin test otherwise there is no other way for Nitrogen estimation other than Kjeldahl's method. Gud luck:)

Ya..CHN analysis is for solid samples ,For which we need in the powder form.But this is residual media analysis (Ammonium sulphate in residual form - liquid) .I have to search for new model CHN analyser which can take samples in liquid form.
