Can you possibly make your question more precise? You certainly do not mean by "class", social class. And for me, "the status of the students" is tautological, since the status a student has is that of a student. I don't think you mean this.

Hello,

The study by Basil Bernstein on comparing and contrasting children coming to school from different social classes based on the language they used in the class can be a practical model and a good solution to what you are looking for. Children from lower classes have and use a restricted code compared to those who come from upper social classes and use an elaborate code.
