The effect of arginine (ARG) on poultry feed intake is mediated through nitric oxide (NO). NO is synthesized from ARG by means of NO synthase. In central nervous system, NO stimulates feed intake. There are some reports addressing the role of ARG and NO on poultry feed intake. See Poult Sci. (2014) Vol 93 Pages 2048-2053.
