I suggest to assess liver function and presence of existing liver damage (viral hepatitis, NASH, cirrhosis of any etiology,...) before starting CT. This way an increase in liver necrosis or cholestasis tests may be better understood and inserted in the context of an acute or an acute on chronic liver damage. This distinction may be crucial in deciding the benefit over risk of CT. Refer to a liver specialist with these info for the final decision.
