In some centres patients with heart failure due to (biopsy-proven) myocarditis are being treated with corticosteroids. Does anybody know if there is clincal evidence or prospective studies?
Dear colleague to all my greetings: The therapeutic corticosteroid is only a mainstay in the treatment of dilated cardiomyopathy, addressing this entidada should be more inclusive and must have or very close monitoring
A Cochrane Systematic Review from 2013 concluded that for patients with viral myocarditis and reduced LVEF, corticosteroid treatment may improve cardiac function, but does not reduce mortality.
