Both asymptomatic carriers and symptomatic patients are carrying the covid-19 virus. Is there any difference in spread of disease between two presentations.
Some papers have reported symptomatic intensity more than 70% while others reported asymptomatic infections are more persistent. In my point of view, when it started or at early stage, there were more intensity of symptomatic patients, but with the passage of time asymptomatic carriers have been increased (just because of much exposure of this virus).
Chen Yi et al. reported that the infection rates of close contacts of symptomatic and asymptomatic infections were 6.30% (126/2001) and 4.11% (6/146), respectively, with no statistically significant difference (P > 0.05).
