I wanna your point of view in defining entrepreneurs who take the place of government. Because they do what government must do, they are social entrepreneur. In developing countries many governments fail to control natural resources for example, then someone who create a business to protect the environment is called a green or ecological entrepreneur. My question relies upon a definition for both types or is it the same.

The basic difference is based, in my opinion, on the final aim of the entrepreneurs, Social entrepreneurs are defined as entrepreneurs whose purpose is not to make profit but to generate benefit to a segment of society or to the society as a whole. The ecological entrepreneur may be a social entrepreneur depending on the fact that making profit is or not his final aim.
Thank you Gabriele for your answer. I can go deeper than that to talk about the social entrepreneurs themselves. Why we don´t have other success story like the Grameen (Yunus) in other field?
