I wish to manufacture graphene from petroleum coke. However, I have only found a paper synthesizing graphene from petrochemical coke. Are they the same thing?
These should be the same for your purposes, as far as I know. But also keep in mind that based on their processing history, cokes can differ in their properties, including impurities, etc. This might or might not be significant for what you're looking at.
Properties and chemical composition of petrochemical and petroleum-derived coke are not the same. Black carbon from biomass, waste tire- or plastic-derived material conversion is also a petrochemical product. Its application properties are vary depending on the moisture, ash/metal/PAH content and O, S, N, halogen containing polar compounds.
