The use of complex statistical tools for analysis has always posed a challenge to researchers due to the assumptions which they need to meet before their use. I would like to know where the difference lies in the use of the two statistical procedures. Is a MANOVA an ANOVA with two or more continuous response variables? I need to satisfy my curiosity since I am preparing to use any them.

ANOVA stands for "Analysis of Variance" and is used when two or more than two means are compared simultaneously.It will give the values and results that can be tested so that we can determine if a relationship of significance exists between the two variables. It is quite like a simple "t-test"
MONOVA means "Multivariate Analysis of Variance" and it helps to determine if the dependent variables get significantly affected by changes within the independent variables.
Ive used one way ANOVA and is quite simple once data has been gathered and compiled. What are you planning to use them for ?
