One of the topical issues in many countries where free high school education is being vigorously pursued is the idea that quality will be compromised for quantity. The simple reason for this notion is that free schooling increases enrollments and brings untold hardship to students in our high schools. I would like colleagues (whose countries have implemented the double semester system) to share their ideas on this subject to help us understand the issues.
