I'm working with light brown apple moth (Epiphyas postvittana) and I'm trying to break up the egg masses and obtain individual eggs. So far I've tried 0.5 M and 1M NaOH for 10 min at room temp (~24 C), without success. Has anyone done this successfully with LBAM or another related tortricid? I'm only aware from one publication dealing with this problem: Retnakaran and French, Canadian Journal of Entomology, 1971. Thanks in advance for any help.
