this is could be a great source for you.

Yes Jack, I start to read it, but I could not find other source easily, while I need different visions.

Also, my research will cover a longer period

Al-Sha 'Rani (d. 1565), while my study will cover from (1517) to (1805)

This is a mile from my own research but I have seen it mentioned in a few other places:

I recommend to you an interesting book, not directly connected to this topic but in which there is some research on religion as well, namely the religious significance of sporting ritual - Egyptian Games and Sports by Joyce Tyldesley.
