For example, ResearchGate could be a very efficient system, if scientists themselves really wish to make their publications widely known: it suffices to upload every recently appeared publication (true, final publication, not preprint, proof-sheet or any other "semi-manufactured semi-product"!) in RG as a "public file" - unfotunately only few of us follow this custom...

If you have Googlescholar account, you can create Googlescholar alert by indicating your research interest keywords. Whenever new research is published online, Google will automatically send you an e-mail notification to your gmail, and any alternative email such as yahoo with title of the new released article.

Alerts on your area of interest can be set in Scopus. Login to Scopus and look for bell icon on the top right corner. Click on new search alert. It will take you to Scopus search. Type your research area. Look for bell icon on the left side (written as set alert next to icon) to create the alert. Whenever an article is published in your research article in Scopus indexed journals, you will receive an email. There is an option at the bottom to set the frequency of alerts (daily/weekly/monthly).There are other kind of alerts that also can be set in Scopus.
