I am facing continuous problem of gram positive cocci contamination in my media. I want to grow gram positive bacillus. Yes, I am aware of other microbiological techniques, but is the any antibiotic that only kill G+ve cocci but not G+ve bacilli?
Possibly Cefazolin -1st Generation of Cefalosporins
Read this article by Tonna et al. "A focus on the newer antibiotics targeting Gram-positive bacteria". I think it is available online.
You can try a mixture of Lysostaphin and Lysozyme... Although they are not antibiotics but chemicals..
Thank you every one. Cefazolin also affect gram positive bacilli. I will try Lysostaphin but I guess it has its activity against Staphylococcus only.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Why do you think you're suffering contamination if you are aware of aseptic technique?
you can add Furazolidone and Mupirocin.. Have minimal activity against GPB
Thank you Sayan. I hope it will work.
thanks for all
Hi there, I have different samples in which I want to detect spinosad presence (qualitatively). I do not want to use HPLC and ELISA kit. Is there any other rapid method by which I can achieve it?
