Is there anybody who can reveal which one of organic solvent (or system) will be suitable to dissolve the titanium dioxide? I'm sure it's possible, but in non-conventional route. Any articles or something?
You can't use only organic solvent system because of specific structure and properties of TiO2. Probably it can be organic solution of HF. Another one proposition - solution of very strong alkali hydroxide (KOH, RbOH) in highly polar organic media.
I've found elsewhere that it is possible to dissolve the TiO2 in hydrogen peroxide (30%). The user claimed that it is effective, especially with adding up a carbonate salt (i.e. Na2CO3). Any comments?
