I can find very general maps showing the tidal extent in the Thames, but does saline water also travel up its tributaries? Can anyone send me or link me to a map showing the extent of estuarine influence (i.e. salinity) in the tributaries of the Thames in greater London?

In the Schelde estuary, the tides go land inward for more than a 100 km for most of the tributaries.
I figger when you can measure tidal oscillations in the tributaries of the Thames, you can make a map of those tributaries which receive a certain dose (incoming sea water volume integrated over time) of salt Northsea water. With accurate hydraulic modelling (should exist for the Thames) you will be able to calculate the salt content of the tributaries which show a tidal effect. Incoming water level differences (and hence water volume differences) due to the tidal oscillation determines the salt content in the tributaries when well mixed, which is mostly the case.
Estuaries are partially enclosed bodies of water where ocean salt water and fresh water mix. Estuaries vary in salt content. When tides rise, their salinity rises. When the tide falls, the estuary has a lower salinity. Some estuaries are protected and are not affected as much as others. Hydraulic modelling of the Thames catchment is a must to know the oscillating salt content in its tributaries. No doubt some administration has done this job long ago.
