This question is in relation to the journal written by B.M. Kavuvalu and others entitled "Challenges facing blood transfusion services at a regional blood transfusion center in Western Kenya". This inquiry will give more insight on the possible effects or consequences that can be faced at Western Kenya if the challenges are not addressed.
If instances persists where issues under the ERBTC remain unaddressed, several factors can result in consequences in both long and short term. Main issues reported by the ERBTC include understaffing, limited funding, insufficient equipment, and irregular reagents and other laboratory supplies.
Short term risks are often caused by understaffing, insufficient equipment, irregular reagents and supplies, all result in long turn around time of blood processing and overall service and output. Irregular reagents may often cause erroneous testing and interference in compatibility and also testing the accuracy and precision.
Long term consequences that may ensue from the funding received by the blood transfusion center affect all the functionality of the branches of system set by the center itself causing delays in output.
