The supercapacitor performance of any material can be compared with other reported value in the literature by calculating the specific capacitance value (F/g or F/cm^2) along with energy density and power density. For comparing the supercapacitor performance with other, Ragone plot (Energy density vs Power density) should be made.

Further, the specific capacitance value depends upon several parameters: (i) Active material pasted on the electrode (ii) electrolytic medium (iii) applied current density (iv) scan rate. In general, the specific capacitance decreases with increasing the applied current density as well as with increasing the scan rate. For that, during the supercapacitor studies, you have to record different charge-discharge experiments by altering the applied current density started from low to high value of applied current density. The choice of electrolyte also plays a crucial role during the supercapacitor performance.
