I am mixing very viscose silicone and powder together using a speedmixer. What is the best way of measuring homogeneity of the mixture across different sampling points in the mix? any suggestions will be appreciated.
You need to find the concentration of particles in different samples. If it is the same in the same volume, then the mixture is homogeneous. The determination of the concentration depends on the size of the particles and their nature. Therefore, methods must be selected depending on these properties. Particle characterization is required.
Thank you for your answer. Our particles are already characterised and we know exactly what size it is at d90. Thank you I will try releasing into media and UV/vis maybe not sure how else I could measure it. Thanks again
I suggests to leave the mixture at rest for 24 hours and then measure the sedimented height of powder. Another option could be the use of a turbidimeter
