I am currently working on an independent research project to quantify oxidative stress and heavy metal remediation in wetland grasses exposed to heavy metals and various microbial community isolates. I need a simple, colorimetric assay (or one that doesn't require advanced, expensive spectrophotometry, radio-labelling, titration or chromatography). Does anyone have any suggestions for such an assay?

But you need to be sure that you get Al free from the plant or soil matrix after acid digestion by extraction. Good luck .
