Hello

I am working a project trying to compare the density of two distinct but related phenomenon, recreation conflict and recreation crowding. Participants in the study placed points on maps at locations that they experienced crowding and where they have experienced a recreational conflict all within the same publicly managed landscape.

We are interested if there is any correlation between areas with high densities of crowding points and areas with high densities of conflict points and are looking for a way to compare the two raster maps in ArcGIS Pro. Since the kernel density values are different on each of the raster layers, we will need to standardize the values to do the comparison first so that we are comparing the same set of continuous values in each of the cells. I can do this through Raster Calculator.

What I am not sure about is how we might see if there is similarity to where these areas of high density occur? I have read a few posts here about the Jaccard Index being used for comparing rasters, but I have not really found anything on comparing density layers. Is this the most common way to do this type of similarity comparison for density, or does someone else have any other ideas? It seems, from most of the articles I have found, that there is not a lot of density comparisons out there, but maybe I am missing something.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
