Dear Kevan, this is a FAQ in RG questions forum. I would suggest you to search for discussions on this topic (for examples see links below). I would recommend you also to go to the Cochrane website which provides many helpful informations for doing systematic reviews. Another way will be to go to any (high ranking) journals website and to read the submitting informations. Besides basic author information there will be standardized checklists for testing quality of reported data.

But you have to bear in mind please, that such mentioned check-list are not really for assessing the quality of a study, they are only tools to assists authors by controlling whether they mention all relevant aspects in their paper. The methodological quality of a study (or the quality of reported data) is the degree to which the design and conduct of a study match the study objectives. Therefore the quality of a study or of data can only be assessed in the context of a specific research question.

When doing a systematic review you should clearly state what is the purpose of your review. In the theoretical background or framework you should explain your intention and what criteria you will define for study selection. The criteria for including studies and for assessing quality depend on your research question and therefore you will not find a standardized questionnaire or checklist.
