Gravity has been attributed to the mass of an object. We now know do to the discovery of the Higgs boson that the Higgs field exists. The Higgs field being a three dimensional field which particles interact with when traveling that causes them to slow down according to how the particle interacts with the field. Which mass being the variable related to the gravity of an object and by which if one changes the other does as well if the volume of the object is constant. And in the manner of mass being related to gravity does that mean there is a relationship between space-time and the Higgs field such that one would reveal the other? And if so how would this relationship work?
Dear Jonathan, the first part of your statement is absolutely correct, which it is a quantum field, but when you mix it to mechanical spacetime, all the perception become doubt!

Particles don't ``slow down'' when interacting with the Higgs field. The spacetime is Minkowski, so global Lorentz invariance is preserved and mass is a Lorentz invariant quantity. All interactions are consistent with global Lorentz invariance.
Gravity doesn't enter the picture, because spacetime remains fixed.
A particle was discovered that was called the Higgs. Nobody has yet experimentally verified that this particle or its field adds mass to other particles.
Spacetime is a coordinate system in which moving observers perceive information that the information carrying field retrieves from the observed event. At the observed event the information is present in the form of Euclidean coordinates. The hyperbolic Lorentz transform adds time interval dilation and length contraction. In this way it converts from Euclidean coordinates to spacetime coordinates. It does not reckon the changes to the transferred information by the deformation and extension of the field that transports the information.
Statements are empty shouts when they are not supported by correct arguments.
Of course there would have to be some relationship between the two fields if they co-exist in the same volume. I don't think there is any mainstream consensus describing such a relationship however. IMO opinion the Higg's field is just a theoretical fantasy, but the background field of space is the Zero-Point-Field IMO, but there is no consensus on this either.
More of a question than statement. I will admit I am not as informed or studious as many of you all are. Though my wording of statements may seem to be expressing a distinct opinion I will state that I was not voicing it with the intent to state a side but rather to give those who where willing to answer the question information on what I had knowledge of so that the answers could be better coordinated to help my misunderstands of this subject be efficiently corrected. If anything stated by me was wrong I am open to any and all information regarding the subject so that I may better understand what happens within and are affected by these fields or if it is not a field then these physical identities that are often mentioned about. I added this question because I no longer wanted to remain ignorant of the truth, and am so very glad that so many of you have responded and have enlightened me on my misconseptions. Therefore please do not take my questions or statements as facts rather consider that I in my current ignorance have yet to obtain the knowledge that you have and if you are willing to correct me I am glade you found it desirous to do so. A zero-point field is as much a fantasy as the Higgs field is. The universe is a dynamic field. Dynamic fields can be described by quaternionic functions and can be represented by continuum eigenspaces of normal operators that reside in a quaternionic non-separable Hilbert space. Quaternionic differential calculus describes the behavior of dynamic fields.
Higgs field may be hypothetical but if it really give mass to a matter as experimentally predicted at CERN with the Higgs Boson or God Particle kind of entity, then it is a space-time with varying field at the level of quantum foam(10^-36meter) where the field points will getting further as one moves towards point of singularity at the center of universe. That is, according to general theory of relativity, space-time field points are equidistant from each other. But this fails while explaining the accelerated expansion of universe. So, to compensate this limit cosmological constant is proposed which is itself not constant. So, space-time should be treated as varying field values. And when this variation in space time will be considered we will call this space-time Higgs field. So, actually Higgs field is space-time field but to prove this we need to replace cosmological constant. It may be looking confusing but there is an idea in this answer and the work is still going on this.
In short, Higgs field is space-time when the basis of observation is changed.
No experiment at the LHC showed that the Higgs particle or field adds mass to other particles. A particle with zero spin and zero electric charge was called the Higgs. This probably is a conglomerate of elementary particles and not a new elementary particle type.
