Many references use glassy carbon electrodes or perform CV with high concentrations of, for example, quinone-like molecules that may donate electrons, but I have yet to find a good reference that demonstrates reduced dissolved organic matter (quinone moeities, etc) at natural concentrations directly impacting oxidation reduction potential (ORP) which often use platinum electrodes with Ag/AgCl reference. Yet, some ORP probe manuals say that this happens.
