I need to create an in-vitro spliceosome inhibitor assay and would like to target the exon junction complex using FACS antibodies. Do you think it's feasible?
But cytoplasmic proteins have special properties that secreted proteins don't have 1) they are not glycosylated. 2) Most of their mRNA do not have a secretion signal sequence. 3) Many intracellular proteins do not have S-S bonds.
Forgot to add that many proteins have a nuclear localization sequence.
Also forgot to add. I hate FACS. I think it is the most useless and misleading technology since rocket electrophoresis.
