I have to undertake a research study merely on high-tech metals..i am wondering if there is an exact list of metals that are regarded as high-tech metals..apart from REEs.
First of all, do you think Rare Earth Elements are high-technology metals? why?! Unless the definition of "high-technology" is well defined it is difficult to do any such listing.
For example, Pu metal can only be obtained via reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel containing U; the nuclear reactor technology and reprocessing both are high-technology. So, one can call it "high-technology" metal.
On the other hand, the propritery Ferrium alloy, an ultra-high strength steel, is a designer steel which is optimized in terms of composition and microstructure using high-technology material design. So one can call this "high-technology" steel.
