I would like to know if the deletion of a protein in all immune cells is affecting our phenotype under study. I thought of performing a bone marrow transplantation from KO to WT mice and vice versa but we're afraid an appropriate mouse line will be asked during the revision of the paper. I found already the floxed line for the gene expressing the protein we're studying, so now I'm looking for a Cre mouse line expressing it generally in all the immune system. I thought something like a CD45-Cre line but I can't find any. Any suggestion? Is it better to just do the bone marrow transplantation?

Bone marrow transplantation will be the best choice for your experiment. In my opinion, if you find out that expression of your target molecules is limited only in specific immune cells, you should use Cre lines (CD4, CD8, CD19 etc.).
