The use of computer games at work and education is growing and will grow. Computer game technologies are distributed in parallel to applications in simulators of various means of transport and machines.

absolutely, consider the entire serious games and training simulation industries! I even developed a training simulation for a law enforcement agency in Australia using Unity.
Definitely is, even mobile game developers like us are mostly interested in developing at least one educational app which is unrelated to Entertainment for the society. And people use those as well.
Serious Games are more helpful than normal apps if developed correctly. But it takes a lot of time so most developers are taking time to publish but the rate of these games will surely grow in future and people will use those because of the growth of the use of technology.
I teach on a BSc Games Technology and a number of my former students have gone to work for "data visualisations" firms who use games technology to produce interactive visualisations, including VR and AR.
