Though it was found in the religious heritage and mentioned in the Bible, but it is not religious. It is human introduced styles of punishing criminals thus it is not Biblical and religious.
Hi there, Crucifixion was a form of Roman torture and punishment for serious social or political offenses. In fact, it has no relationship with a religious idea or doctrine. it is true that some so-called Christians practicing nowadays theatrical crucifixions, but this is a misappropriation of the concept of the punishment that Jesus suffered in his own crucifixion and it is a social phenomenon linked to rites more than a truly religious act.
Crucifixion is inhumane punishments of humans by humans. It's history is long before biblical writings. It is writing of in the bible. As it was a visible capital punishment for breaking social rules or laws , or act of terror to send a message, there is nothing religious about the act of crucifixion.
Because of its use for capital punishment for crimes, to be hung on the tree was for sins (breaking the law) was a sign of shame, abasement, despise, dishonor, disgrace, and rejection. The biblical use of crucifixion; "Deu 21:22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: Deu 21:23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance", is were it enters into religion under Mosaic law. Notice the versus use a conditional "If" they hang him from a tree. Therefore it is a capital punishment of choice. A human choice.
This punishment was used by the Romans since ancient times. It has a religious basis that may be the correct or incorrect understanding of the interpretation of the Qur’an
Crucifixion was a product of the Roman culture. A culture guided by the presumed supremacy of an ethnic group, namely, the Romans. The Romans were the rulers of the gentiles, and every other ethnic group. They exercised their power by bullying people and beating them up, and by flexing their muscles over every aspect of their life.
Religion is the fundamental principle of life for human beings. Its fact there are many religions in the world and too much difference among these religions but all of these are code of conduct for human beings. Punishment base on religion.
Crucifixion is a slow and painstaking method of execution in which the victim is tied or fastened with nails to a large wooden cross and left suspended until he dies. Crucifixion was popular in ancient times, but it is not based on Deniz. In Islam, crucifixion takes place after the lawful death sentence has been implemented.
Roman use of crucifixion was a deliberately horrific public display meant to terrify people out of committing the crime for which the crucifixion took place. Jesus was crucified with two "insurrectionists," but the term used can be parsed (and was later, perhaps for political reasons) as "thieves." He was crucified under a banner that clearly identified him as the particular insurrectionist who claimed, or sought, kingship over the Jews--a straightforward act of sedition against Rome. All three died for political transgression. The visual intimidation in this case made it clear that Rome, and no one else, decided who-ruled-who in the Empire. Threatening the sovereignty of Rome was the crime, and Jesus was but one of thousands crucified for it. At the time of his crucifixion, practicing and/or preaching Judaism was not a crime against Rome nor did it warrant any punishment, let alone crucifixion.
The crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth is central to Christianity, and the cross (sometimes depicting Jesus nailed to it) is the main religious symbol for many Christian churches.
