skin irritation. Prolonged skin contact is unlikely to result in absorption of harmful amounts.

There are far better penetration enhancers and delivery vehicles and most importantly, specific formula considerations based on what exactly you’re trying to deliver. Triton-X 100 is considered a pretty strong skin irritant. It is frequently used for formulating scapies-treatment ointments and it really irritates users' skin and mucous membranes.
By the way, what are you attempting to enhance the penetration of? Is your target transdermal or transfollicular? There are so many questions I would need to know in order to further help. Do you have a good homogenizer?
