I believe there is no connection between the impact factor and research work. If a good paper is published in a journal which has no impact factor does not mean that the research work was not good. Normally, high impact factor journals accept any paper that has effective english language and designed well. No matter of which level the idea of the paper is.
Generally scientist cannot depend on impact factor for indicating of his work . Scientist they are concentrating thinking for his mind all the time working for his research for which he cannot depend on impact factor .
However in a very general way I have expressed my views some time back in relation to similar line for which I submit herewith for your perusal
When any scientists work in a day , it depends on his working narration & process which may help him to judge the time limit for the comparison & he would not prefer to keep his working in an half heart manner in view of this it is not for scientist to draw a line of demarcation for his working hours . As we all know well our mind never gets tired as it requires mere minor change or relaxation .
From one point of view, the possible impact factor a journal has, is just an indicator regarding the main question of the thread. What is real and what is not, requires a lot of discussion. An interesting relevant paper titled ''Scientist impact factor (SIF): a new metric for improving scientists’ evaluation?'' can be seen at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5555978/.
