I've found, as the result of several searches, the the term networked learning is less mentioned in educational bibliography: published articles, books, and in activities like congress, workshops, etc.
Is this really happening? Is not the activity reflected by the concept currently relevant or simply its identification has been substituted by other?
What is your opinion in that regard?
I have actually been related to the field for more than 15 years now and have never heard the term. Instead, I have always read/heard things like "distance education" or "online education".
Luis de la Torre But probably you have heard "aprendizaje en red". It's the same. The last is the translation of the former term, in use during the last 20 or so years.
Regarding the extension of both, just trying a search in Scholar Google (or simply try over here, in RG) one can obtain not less than 3000000 results, among them many results from the Distance Education Spanish community.
This concept is strongly related to the connectivist approach in Education, mainly virtual, and with the concepts of Web 2.0 and Personal Learning Environment (PLE) all they in use in the context of distance, specifically virtual Education.
