In Lumerical Charge module, metal can only be simulated in case of contact layer as any metal structure always need to be associated with a predefined bias value. Thus, metal nanoparticle embedded in or grown over any solar cell layers can't be simulated electronically in this module. According to the suggestion from Lumerical support group, such metal NPs have to be simulated as parameter tuned semiconductors. Is other alternative software like TCAD Sentaurus able to electronically simulate embedded metal nanoparticles inside a structure?
