It's a separate discipline which uses the mathematics most.
In Mathematics most of the time your are dealing with fix/point effects not directly with uncertainty.
And, when it comes to uncertainty or Randomness Statistics come into existence. Although both subjects are complementary to each other, their interdependence don't allows us to compare.
