Hey Researchers!

I am MA student currently doing SEM analysis for my thesis and I am quite new to this, so I have one question that I would like to get your advice on.

Is RMSEA of 0.09 can be reasonable or not with small sample size?

I have run the analysis two times and see a small improvement with bigger sample size. I'm still currently trying my best to distribute my survey and hopefully can get a better sample size in the near future. But there is one concern when looked at the result. Everything except CMIN/df saw an improvement with bigger sample size.

Down below are the results I got from two different sample size. As for the items in my survey, there are 15 items. I have read that it is recommended to get around 10 responses per one item, so I'm looking to get at least till 150 responses then do another evaluation to see the result again.

First Evaluation with 90 responses:

CMIN/DF = 2.037

CFI = 0.90

TLI = 0.88

RMSEA = 0.10

SRMR = 0.06

Second Evaluation with 109 responses:

CMIN/DF = 2.020

CFI = 0.91

TLI = 0.89

RMSEA = 0.09

SRMR = 0.06
